All Ohio school districts are invited to inquire about this technology enhanced curriculum that establishes, supports, and enlivens programs for internships, service learning, school to work, and experiential education. The Center for Experiential Learning, Leadership and Technology (CELLT) recognizes that the talents students need to be successful in the future are not the same as they were at the beginning of the 20th century. This unique curriculum that can be integrated into existing high school offerings is designed to prepare students for learning, work, and living in the 21st century by assisting students to become: - Effective team members;
- Citizens of their community;
- Efficient researchers;
- Successful with communication processes and technology;
- Adaptable to change in an ever-expanding world.
- Self-directed life-long learners;
Elements of the curriculum can be used within current school structures, demographics and course offerings. The program can be adapted as a full-year, 36-week curriculum; condensed into quarter, semester, or summer school programs; or sampled for special learning opportunities. |

Community Garden at The Charles School |
The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University is proud to announce that it has received a $9200 grant to install a community garden at its new building next year. The grant money is administered by the Toyota Foundation with selection through the National Science Teacher’s Association. Grant funds will allow students to build a garden from scratch, engage in authentic scientific experiments by conducting tests to see how plants grow, and share the bounty of their work with friends and neighbors of The Charles School.
Current 9th grade students will be asked to help Mr. Ed Ingman, TCS Science Teacher, develop the garden and establish partnerships with area agencies. All tenth grade students will work on the garden as part of their Biology course curriculum beginning fall 2008. Other students will be offered a ‘Garden Guardians’ course that will assist with the daily maintenance of the garden and its partnerships.
Please talk to students, email Mr. Ingman directly (
